Korean Grammar Patterns
-아/어 오다 vs -아/어 가다
Meaning
Direction of action over time
How to use it
Attach -아/어 오다 to show an action continuing up to the present (toward now), and -아/어 가다 to show it continuing away from now into the future (onward). The vowel follows the standard ㅏ/ㅗ → 아, others → 어 rule.
오다 = toward the present moment; 가다 = away into the future.,Often used with 살다, 지내다, 발전하다 to describe ongoing processes.
