-ㄹ걸(요)
Meaning
mild regret / supposition
How to use it
With past form (-았/었을걸) it expresses mild regret 'I should have…'; with present it expresses a tentative supposition 'probably…'. The regret use is usually self-directed and casual; the supposition use can take -요.
Regret: 미리 예매할걸 'I should've booked ahead.',Supposition: 지금쯤 도착했을걸요 'They've probably arrived by now.'
