Promise ending -마

How to use it

-(으)마 is an intimate ending by which the speaker promises to do something FOR a younger or close listener: 사 주마 ('I'll buy it for you, I promise'). It is first-person only, warm and slightly old-fashioned, used by elders to juniors. Cannot be used upward.

First-person promise only; downward/intimate.,Modern casual equivalent: -ㄹ게 (해 줄게).
