Single-syllable words may be written together

How to use it

Korean normally spaces every word, but rule 제46항 allows an exception: when single-syllable words come in a row, you MAY join them — 그때 (that time), 그곳 (that place), 좀더 (a bit more), 이말 저말 (this and that talk), 한잎 두잎 (one leaf, two leaves). Both 그 때 and 그때 are correct; the joined form is what you'll actually see in print because it reads more smoothly.

This is 'may', not 'must' — spacing them is never wrong.,Don't over-apply: it covers strings of single syllables, not any short words.
