이/히/리/기 被動
Meaning
Suffix passive 이/히/리/기
How to use it
Many Korean verbs form the passive by inserting 이/히/리/기 between stem and ending: 먹다→먹히다, 보다→보이다, 듣다→들리다, 안다→안기다. The right suffix is lexical (memorized per verb), not freely chosen. The agent takes 에게/한테/에.
Suffix choice is per-verb; learn pairs by heart.,Agent marked with 에게/한테 (person) or 에 (thing).
