How to use it
-(으)ㄴ/는/ㄹ 셈이다 means a situation effectively 'amounts to' or 'counts as' something, even if not literally so. 셈 is a bound noun (spaced), preceded by the appropriate modifier: past -ㄴ, present -는, prospective -ㄹ.
Often translated 'more or less / practically'.,Compare 거의 다 한 셈이다 = practically done.
