Korean Grammar Patterns

여쭤보다 / 물어보다

Meaning

Humble vs plain 'ask'

How to use it

여쭤보다 (여쭙다) is the humble form used when YOU ask a superior; it lowers yourself. 물어보다 is the plain/neutral form for asking equals or juniors. Choose by the listener's status, not the topic.

여쭙다 conjugates: 여쭤요 / 여쭀습니다.,Never use 여쭤보다 about a junior asking you.
