Korean Grammar Patterns
ㅅ 불규칙
Meaning
ㅅ-irregular verbs
How to use it
In ㅅ-irregular verbs, stem-final ㅅ drops before a vowel, but the two vowels do NOT contract: 붓다 → 부어요 (not 붜요). Regular ㅅ verbs (씻다, 웃다, 벗다) keep the ㅅ. Common irregulars: 짓다(build), 낫다(heal), 젓다(stir).
ㅅ drops but vowels stay separate (부어, not 붜).,씻다/웃다/벗다/빗다 are regular.
